Way back in the early 00s there was a couple of guys with an old style zine called the unscene who wanted to go on line. We registered their domain and hosted it for 3 years, We tried to get them a couple of geeks and tried to humor their web monkeys of the day. They fought amongst eachother they wrote about stuff that was important to them and us and most importantly they documented about 3 years of the eugene punk rock scenes issues and shows. As for myself I took about 3Gigabytes worth of show pictures during this time.
A farely broken archive of it can be found at
http://straight.fromhell.com/archive/ The pictures are being reconstructed on this site under
2000-2002 show pictures.
Eventually after about 3 changes in managemnet they decided that they were going to change the name but they couldnt decide on what. So I didnt re register the domainname. unsceneonline.org has been sold to 3 successive domainname holding companies none of which have anything to do with it and none of which have made a dime. Fucking cunts. In the mean time I have taken another 1G of pictures which do not have a home and have founds hundreds of bands and punk sites who point to the pictures and articles on the Unscene site.
I have started work on this site as a framework for the unscenes documentation and the thousands of pictures I have taken of bands in eugene and elsewhere and also with the hope that this can be a collective site for other scene journalists to place their own words and photos.
