The Unscene magazine was founded by Chris Wriston. He published the first
issue
in November of 2000 and laid the groundwork for many issues to follow. In
August of 2001,
he handed the reigns to Glenn Shires, who continued publishing The Unscene
until August of 2002.
Due to other commitments, Glenn no longer has time to keep
producing
The Unscene. Thus, issue #14 was The Unscene's final
issue. Chris Wriston may possibly resurrect The Unscene at some
point in the future, but it's impossible to predict if and when
he will do it. Eventually we
hope to archive all 14 issues on this web site (but first we have to find
the old issues on disk... it could take a while).
Thanks for your support. This is what we said on the first page of every issue... Why We Do This... The UNSCENE is trying to strengthen Eugene's music scene. Good bands aren't getting the exposure they deserve, thanks to lack of promotion and lack of support... but it's getting better. The UNSCENE's goal is to encourage people to come out and see what local musicians are doing. The UNSCENE needs your help. We need band interviews, concert reviews or any other kinds of articles. We also need artists and photographers. Give us a call if you'd like to contribute. Sorry, we can't pay you. But we can dramatically increase your ability to attract members of the opposite (or same) sex when they see your name printed in this distinguished publication.* The opinions you find in these pages aren't necessarily the opinions of The UNSCENE's producers. Keep in mind that everybody has a right to their own opinions. We Don't aim to please everyone. If you disagree with something in this magazine, we encourage you to contact us and tell us what you think. Unfortunately, The UNSCENE doesn't have much of a budget, so there won't be enough copies for everyone. Back issues will soon be available for viewing on the web page. *Outrageous claims may not be honored. Hired Goons:
